MT. VERNON — Three new police officers were sworn into the Mt. Vernon Police Department Friday morning in a packed city council chamber at Mt. Vernon City Hall.

Dylan Chamness, Keith Finstad, and Robert Jackowski, Jr. were all sworn in as probationary officers of the Mt. Vernon Police Department.

The department’s chief Trent Page says these men exhibit all the qualities expected of members of the Mt. Vernon Police force.

The trio will now go to the state police academy for 14 weeks before coming back and training in Mt. Vernon for 14 weeks after that.
