HAMILTON COUNTY — The Hamilton County Board has set up precautions for county government as they prepare for possible Coronavirus cases in the county.

As of Friday morning, there are no confirmed cases in Hamilton County. But county board vice-chair P.E. Cross says the board is urging the public to not go to the courthouse unless absolutely necessary. He says they are also asking county office holders to only have 50% of their staff report at a time to help in social distancing efforts.

Also at Thursday’s meeting, the board approved a $3.2 million dollar loan from the USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Loan & Grant Program. The money will cover about 30 miles of county road improvements. Cross says about half of the roads are done, and the other half is currently being worked on.
