CARBONDALE, IL — The Carbondale Police Department has issued a homicide warrant for a man involved in a shooting behind the Hangar 9 Bar on South Illinois Avenue that took place over a year ago.
According to a press release, police responded to a shots fired call behind the bar on Nov. 3, 2019 and learned that there was a man down with multiple apparent gunshot wounds. The deceased victim was identified as 28-year-old Keon Lavonte Cooper.
Through the investigation it was determined that Thomas Evans, Jr., Tyren Johnson and Olando Sheron were the suspects in this homicide.
Evans, Jr. and Johnson have since been arrested on their warrants. There is a nationwide homicide warrant out for Sheron.
Police say Sheron has ties to Lake St. Louis, Missouri, the Sikeston and Cape Girardeau area of southeast Missouri, Chicago, Parchment, Michigan or in Mississippi where he could be staying with family or his maternal grandfather.
A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Sheron’s arrest.
