FAYETTE COUNTY, IL — A 43-year-old Brownstown man scheduled for a Monday jury trial has instead been arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court. Jason D. McCaslin is charged in separate cases with the two Class 2 felonies for allegedly having committed acts of sexual penetration with two separate victims who were between the ages 13 and 17.
If convicted, he could face between 3 and 7 years in prison on each Class 2 felony charge. He has been arrested multiple times since his initial December 2018 arrest in the cases for failing to appear for court events. He remains in the Fayette County Jail with bail set at $200,000.
McCaslin is now scheduled to appear in court Wednesday on the warrant.
