MT. VERNON, IL — Three people were arrested Friday morning after the Mt Vernon Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department High Risk Team served a knock and announce search warrant at a home on East Idlewood Road.
According to the Mt. Vernon Police Department, 41-year-old Jonathan P. Hampton was arrested on charges of Possession of Fentanyl with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Equipment.
35-year-old Lewis J. Mangan was arrested on charges of Possession of Fentanyl with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Equipment.
40-year-old Jackie F. Pauley was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance. All three were taken to the Jefferson County Jail where they remain awaiting an appearance in Jefferson County Court.
According to police, the arrests came as the result of detectives from the Mt Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Joint Narcotics Unit investigating the residence for selling illegal narcotics. The narcotics units worked with the Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s Office to secure a search warrant for the residence and property. The three individuals were located at the residence and on the property.
During a search of the residence detectives reportedly located quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, controlled substances, packaging materials and drug equipment.
