MT. VERNON, IL — Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 34-year-old man over the weekend after they responded to a report of a suspicious male in the area of IL HWY 37 & E Gamefarm Rd in rural Mt. Vernon.
In the early morning hours Sunday, deputies responded to reports that may have gotten into some vehicles. Deputies searched the area and were able to locate Jimmy Buck, of Mt. Vernon, who matched the description. Deputies determined that entry had been made to the vehicles parked on the property and some damage had been done to some outbuildings. Buck was taken into custody and is charges with Burglary to Motor Vehicle, Criminal Damage to Property and Possession of Drug Equipment. Buck was formally charged Tuesday in Jefferson County Court with Class 3 felony burglary to a motor vehicle.
His bail was set at $30,000 and he’s scheduled for a June 25 preliminary hearing and first appearance with his court appointed attorney.
