MT. VERNON, IL — On Monday, after suffering a major medical event, a local veterinarian had to end the suffering of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office K9 Tico.

Tico had a major impact on Sheriff’s Office service for the citizens of Jefferson County. Tico’s two handlers, (current) Deputy Kevin Rodriguez and (former) Captain Ryan Weeks submitted the below photographs in memoriam of their partner. The Sheriff, his administration, and employees of the Sheriff’s Office as well as all of us at Withers Broadcasting pass along our condolences to both handlers and all who were close to Tico.
