VANDALIA, IL — A Fayette County jury found a 41-year-old Farina man guilty Tuesday on all counts charging him with child sex crimes. The jury was handed the case of Robert Branham around 4 p.m. Tuesday and returned with their unanimous verdict just before 5:30 p.m.
Branham was arrested in August 2020 on five Class 1 felony counts of criminal sexual assault – one charge is by force and the other four are for a family member under the age of 18. He’s remained in the Fayette County Jail since his 2020 arrest with bond set at $100,000. That bond was revoked Tuesday following the jury’s verdict.
Branham is scheduled to be sentenced January 3. All five counts against Branham are punishable by four to 15 years in prison.
