VANDALIA — Vandalia police arrested two people from Georgia Sunday after a traffic stop led to the reported discovery of large quantities of drugs.
According to court records, 50-year-old Charles D. Peck, of Lithonia, and 22-year-old Alexcia Badger-Burks, of Atlanta, were formally charged Tuesday with Class X felony charges of trafficking of a controlled substance and manufacture with the intent to deliver more than 900 grams of fentanyl, as well as Class 1 felony possession of more than 200 grams of a controlled substance.
Both Peck and Badger-Burks were in the same vehicle when they were stopped in Vandalia. Police say no further details are being released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
