JEFFERSON COUNTY — Members of Jefferson County Crimestoppers met with our own Jake Linder last week to discuss the organization’s needs and what it does for the community.
Coordinator and Board Member Randa Rowland says Crimestoppers works with law enforcement, the media, and the public to make the community safer by helping to solve crimes.
Rowland says the organization started in the county in 1984, and in its nearly 40 years in operation, they’ve given thousands in rewards to help solve crimes in the community.
Crimestoppers President Richard Endsley notes the organization tries to join forces with the business side of the county through the Associate Membership Program to help fund rewards and promote the tip line, which is 618-244-TIPS.
To join the Associate Program, call the sheriff’s office at 618-244-8004 extension 223 for more information.
