While the big winner of Wednesday night’s $1.765 billion Powerball jackpot is in California, that doesn’t mean nothing was left for Southern Illinois.
A person who purchased a Powerball ticket at the Casey’s General Store in Odin matched enough numbers to bring home $50,000 from Wednesday night’s game.
Three Illinois tickets matched four numbers in the Powerball to win $50,000 each. The two other tickets were sold online at the Illinois Lottery Website.
Winning tickets over $600 have to be claimed through the Illinois Lottery. The retailer where a winning ticket is sold will receive an award of 1 percent of the amount on the winning ticket.
