SANDOVAL — Sandoval’s homecoming weekend begins Friday with School Secretary Missy Schlau as Grand Marshal of the town’s parade because she is absolutely a hometown hero to families throughout the school district.

The weekend’s events start at 3:30 p.m. Friday with a grade school parade through town

Around that same time, a vendor fair will be set up on Commercial and Main, while the Police Department hands out trick-or-treat bags.

A chili supper will kick off at 4 p.m. with desserts provided by the Sandoval Women’s Club. A chalk art contest will be held at 4 p.m. at the library.

A pet costume parade will take place at 5 p.m. in front of City Hall, which will be followed at 5:30 by Trunk or Treat behind the fire department, and at 6 p.m. with a bonfire also behind the fire department.

On Saturday, doors at the High School will open at 5 p.m. for the coronation of the 63rd Sandoval Homecoming Queen and 37th King.
