WASHINGTON COUNTY — Charges have been dismissed against two Nashville, Illinois residents arrested and charged earlier this year with sexual assault.
According to Washington Court records, 23-year-old Dylan Meyer and 20-year-old Kaelee Jenkins, were arrested in April. Meyer was charged with Class 1 felony criminal sexual assault by force. Bond was set at $75,000 in his case and he remained in the Washington County Jail for four months before being released on a $75,000 recognizance bond.
Jenkins was charged with Class 1 felony criminal sexual assault by force, as well as Class 2 felony conspiracy against civil rights. She posted $5,000 cash bond a few days after her arrest and was released from the Washington County Jail.
Then on Monday, the Washington County State’s Attorney’s Office elected to dismiss charges against both defendants. Jenkins was returned $4,500 of the $5,000 cash bond she had posted to gain her release from the Washington County Jail this year.
