MARION COUNTY — The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that bridge deck repairs and guardrail improvements on Kell Road at the Interstate 57 overpass between March Road and Old Salem Road in Marion County will require lane closures beginning Wednesday, Nov 8.

Throughout the project, one lane will always remain open. Temporary signals will control two-way traffic. Maximum lane width will be 9 feet during the work, which is expected to last about four weeks.

Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, consider alternate routes, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
