JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that starting at 6 a.m. Thursday, May 9, eastbound Interstate 64 between mile markers 60 and 73 will be closed for repairs. That section of road will reopen around 5 p.m. that same day.

An alternate route is available via, US 51-IL 15-I-57/64.  Motorists are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes.
