MCLEANSBORO – The McCoy Memorial Library in McLeansboro will hold a fundraiser to help cover anticipated expenses for fiscal year 2025.

Officials say that the library’s income and donations have not kept pace with rising expenses.

While annual expenses may seem modest, they have outpaced the library’s primary income source – property tax revenue – in recent years. The biggest cost driver has been the increase in minimum wage.

Projections show the library will lose an additional $20,000 this year. Please consider supporting the library by purchasing items during the Fall Festival or making a donation to help cover expenses.

The fundraiser will be set up on the sidewalk directly in front of the library today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
