SALEM, IL — Salem Community High School’s annual canned food drive is now being called a huge success, collecting 19,767 cans for the Salem Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry. The winning home room, led by Dylan Courty and Matt Donoho, brought in 3,302 cans, narrowly defeating the team of Megan Molenhour and Amy Telford. The drive was a school-wide effort, with students canvassing local businesses and making multiple trips to Walmart to gather donations. The food will support the pantry’s Thanksgiving distribution, which is expected to serve 175 to 200 families in need.
